Getting lost in the grind of life, we can sometimes forget to recognize the little things that bring us happiness.

The Hubs and I are in marriage counseling because we are going through a rough patch. (PS…Even if you aren’t going through hard times with your partner, try out marriage counseling! It’s seriously amazing and totally eye-opening for your relationship.)
I have extreme Anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and it affects my everyday life, relationship, and my parenting. (But I’m working on it!)
I’m still 30 lbs heavier than I was before having kids. (Yep, I’ve gained 10 more lbs since writing my post Fat and Happy. Super
But I have decided, with the new year of 2019, I am NOT going to dwell on life’s negatives.
Because here’s the thing, guys… there will ALWAYS be something negative going on. There will aways be something that happens that makes you unhappy.
That’s just a part of life.
We have 2 choices:
#1 – Play the victim card, dwell on the negatives, and “oh, woe is me…everyone
#2 – Acknowledge what just upset you, be unhappy about it for a healthy amount of time, stand yourself back up, and open your eyes to the overwhelming amount of happiness surrounding you.
Because it really is overwhelming, my friend.
Which will you choose?
There are so many good, simple things that happen throughout our day. We just need to make the choice to notice them and let that positive energy absorb into our souls!

Simple Things That Bring Me Happiness
~A sunny day~
~A random hug from my husband~
~A perfectly made Lemon Drop (OMG I had one at Mortons Steakhouse the other day and…DUDE…amazing!~
~A stranger randomly giving me a compliment (Read my experience of this: Compliment Someone Today~
~Watching my garden plants grow as a result of my nurturing~
~Getting lost in a book~
~Dark chocolate covered almonds~
~The sound of my kids laughing (Apparently the word “tree” is hilarious? ↓ lolol)~
~Watching my TWO picky children actually eating the food I made them~
~Driving – ALONE~
~My morning cup of coffee or Jasmine tea (when my kids actually let me sit in peace to drink it – rare lol)~
~Listening to a symphony orchestra~
~The smell of an onion, especially while it’s cooking~
~The look on someones face when they open a gift I’ve given them~
~Rock painting and hiding them throughout our town for strangers to find #KindnessRocks~
